Safety and efficacy of astaxanthin

Update:06-12-2019

Astaxanthin: A carotenoid that is distributed in microorganisms, fish, and crustaceans. It has been recognized as an effective antioxidant and thus exhibits different physiological effects. We sought to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of astaxanthin through these studies. Analyze the effects on the brain by measuring blood biochemistry and analyzing blood indicators (using CogHealth and P300 measures).

Astaxanthin extracted from Haematococcus pluvialis, 4 mg, 8 mg, and 20 mg, was administered to 73, 38, and 16-year-old healthy volunteers, once a day for four weeks. We administered 10 age-related forgetfulness subjects to 12 mg astaxanthin at the same concentration every day for 12 weeks to observe its efficacy. The experimental results show that after 12 weeks, the symptoms of forgetful people have improved significantly.

In this study, we found that adult subjects had no adverse reactions after taking 20 mg / day of astaxanthin extracted from Haematococcus pluvialis for 4 weeks. Our current findings further support that the product is safe.
